Description
Your learners will enjoy the rigor and creativity of our engaging Where the Red Fern Grows activities built from best teaching practices. We want to make your lesson planning journey easy, so you can focus on your expertise. This novel study includes a curriculum map pacing guide that offers our day-by-day suggestion for how to plan out your weeks of lessons. Our pedagogy section explains the instructive idea behind the activity, gives ideas for implementation, and aligns it to the standards. We’ve filmed some training videos on (1) how to assemble a Novel Analysis Packet that is unique to the academic needs of your learners and (2) how to effectively use our Quickwrite writing prompts.
To make your digital experience smooth, we include instructions (w/ screenshots!) of how to download and organize your resources in Google Drive and Microsoft OneDrive. We’ve added Google Forms versions of each activity that auto-corrects their responses using a suggested answer key (which you can adjust afterward or modify your answer key) and compiles grades into a spreadsheet with learners’ names and class periods to make things easier for you to grade all in one place (some types of question aren’t able to auto-grade, though, because of the short-answer format).

WHAT OTHER TEACHERS ARE SAYING ABOUT THIS LITERATURE RESOURCE
♥ I had so much anxiety dropping $20 at one time on TPT. Once I opened and watch the first video, I almost danced a jig! I watched one of your YouTube videos when I was taking classes to reenter the classroom and loved your ideas. I can’t wait to go through the entire packet to see the great ideas you’ve included! I’m loving the first day activity!!!!
♥ Variety of resources and activities for the students to complete while reading the book. It includes a calendar, PowerPoint, grammar sheets, research topics/ questions and many suggestions. Also includes words from each of the chapters for the students to define using context clues and the quiz for each section.
♥ Created for Learning makes fabulous units! I have been happy with every unit I have bought from them, including this one. Thank you!
♥ Variety of activities. Quick write activities were a source for reflection and dialogue. Very well put together novel unit.
♥ This saved my day! This has been my favorite TpT novel study bundle yet. The materials are very well developed and the kids were able to grasp each activity while still feeling challenged. I wish
the files were a little easier to navigate it took quite a bit of time to familiarize myself with each component, its location, and it’s place on the pace chart (love pace charts!). I look forward to more content from you in the future.
♥ Thank you! This was a very thorough unit; grammar, writing, quizzes, nonfiction readings, and vocabulary.
