Pixar SHORT FILMS are the perfect way to teach plot!
Plot Charts are a necessary story analysis skill, so we’ve made them so much fun. Your learners will be begging for more as they watch Pixar Short Films and analyze the plot.
These graphic analyzers will help learners analyze the 6 parts of the plot —
★ Exposition (setting, characters, and background info)
★ Conflict (also called “Inciting Incident” for Canada)
★ Rising Action (3 events or details)
★ Climax
★ Falling Action (2 events or details)
★ Resolution
This is my all-time fave! Thank you — my 8th grade students did not even ask to go to the bathroom during this unit, it’s that good. When one would get called out of the room they would beg me to wait on them.

I love this resource and so do my students! The recommended videos are short enough that students can remember the story without having to review it over and over again. The videos don’t have dialog either. This made is easy for my ELL students to be successful but difficult for students who have trouble differentiating emotions. I used this in a 5th grade classroom.

FABULOUS way to review plot elements for my 9th graders! This was WAY more fun than taking notes over stuff they’ve been learning since elementary. They LOVED it, and it’s hard to find things that 9th graders don’t think are lame.

I was hoping for Boundin’, a personal favorite, but stumbled on Day and Night first, another favorite (what incredible animation).
