We’ve added easy-grade Google Forms versions of each activity that auto-corrects their responses using a suggested answer key (which you can adjust afterward or modify your answer key). The forms compile grades into a spreadsheet with learners’ names and class periods to make things easier for you to grade all in one place (some types of questions aren’t able to auto-grade, though, because of the short-answer format).

Divergent by Veronica Roth is a young adult dystopian novel set in a future where society is divided into factions based on valued attributes. The novel focuses on the choices a teenage girl must make as she moves toward adulthood.
Students explore themes of identity, courage, and social structure. These themes encourage students to think critically about society and personal values. This Divergent novel study gives teachers the resources to guide students through character development, figurative language, and real life connections found in the story.
